David Orton to Deal with Image Processing

Business Wire: GEO Semiconductor announces that David Orton, formerly CEO of Aptina, has joined the GEO board of directors. In addition to serving on GEO’s board, Mr. Orton will chair a newly formed Strategic Committee to help shape GEO’s business strategy and evaluate additional ways to leverage its intellectual property assets.

GEO deals with programmable, high performance geometric processor ICs featuring the highly acclaimed and patented eWarp geometric processor, H.264 CODECS, as well as video, audio and human interface technologies for automotive, mobile, and security markets. GEO used to cooperate with Aptina.

GEO’s Chairman and CEO, Paul Russo, says "We are... pleased to welcome Dave to our board. Dave is a semiconductor veteran that truly understands the high growth automotive and cloud camera markets, which are key target markets for GEO. His vast experience from serving as CEO of Aptina, a world-class CMOS image sensor manufacturer, and ATI will be invaluable as we further mold GEO’s strategy."

"GEO is well-positioned in high-growth market segments and have the breadth of IP to deliver compelling solutions as well as win business at the top-tier customers. I look forward to working with Paul and the rest of this exceptional management team," said David Orton.
